September 13, 2012: My day:


  • 3:15am - Alarm goes off. Snooze.

  • 3:24am - Alarm goes off. Wake up. Shower. Get ready.

  • 3:45am - Leave for airport.

  • 4:20am - Arrive at airport. Park in garage instead of the extra $2 for valet, because I’m afraid I’ll get to the airport after midnight and have to pay for 2 days.

  • 4:23am - Get to security. Flash Trusted Traveler Card.

  • 4:24am - Through security, shoes still on, laptop in backpack. Sweet.

  • 4:35am - Breakfast at Camden Foods.  Croissant + Naked Juice.

  • 4:40 - 5:15am - Answer emails.

  • 5:15am - Board flight

  • 5:30am - Takeoff. Sleep.

  • 7:00am - Land at IAD. Beautiful sunrise and rolling fog over the Potomac.

  • 7:00 - 8:00am - Answer emails.

  • 8:00am - Board flight IAD-BDL.

  • 8:35am - Takeoff. Work in air.

  • 10:00am - Landed in Hartford.

  • 10:15am - Rental car. Booked Chevy Cruze, got Dodge Charger. Awesome.

  • 10:30am - Arrive to Trinity College. Walk campus, because it’s beautiful.

  • 10:40am - Get a head nod and “what’s up bro” from a kid. Probably because of my backpack.

  • 11:00am - Time for meetings! Working lunch. Here we go.

  • 4:45pm - Meetings over. Back to car.

  • 5:20pm - Arrive at airport. Drop off rental car. Talk to Cameron while I drive.

  • 5:40pm - Through security, time for supper.

  • 5:45pm - Burrito Bowl at “Fresh City”. Where’s the meat?

  • 5:50pm - Screw it, I’m going to McDonalds for some fries.

  • 5:55pm - Call from Dan the Man.

  • 6:00 - 6:30pm - Answer emails.

  • 6:30pm - Board flight.

  • 7:00pm - Takeoff.

  • 7:50pm - Arrive at Dulles.

  • 8:00 - 9:30pm - Work. Emails.

  • 9:30pm - Board flight.

  • 9:50pm - Takeoff.

  • 10:00pm - Work. Emails. And yes, a bit of Flight Control HD.

  • 11:00pm - Arrive at IND, 30 minutes early. Yes!!!

  • 11:03pm - “There’s a ‘situation’ in the terminal, we’ve been asked to stay out here and away from the gates.”

  • 11:10pm - Still no word.

  • 11:25pm - Heading to gate!

  • 11:35pm - Deplane, rush towards garage so I don’t get charged for the 2nd day.  (I knew this was going to happen!!)

  • 11:39pm - Parking garage evacuated. What’s going on? Cop: ” A…. threat.  Just read about it in the paper tomorrow.”

  • 11:45pm - Waiting.

  • 11:50pm - Waiting.

  • 11:59pm - Yep, I’m paying for 2 days of parking.

  • 12:01am - This is a conspiracy to make money.

  • 12:03am - Cleared to go into garage.  Of course.

  • 12:04am - $36.00 for 20 hours of parking. Not fair.

  • 12:50am - Home.

  • 1:00am - Bed.

  • 2:58am -  Alarm goes off….. You think I wasn’t going to figure out a way to make an iPhone preorder happen? :)

  • 3:15am - Apple gets its crap together, iPhone ordered. And that is my 24 hours.
