October 31, 2013: Happy Halloween from Singapore! I arrived around 4am, got some quick sleep and then headed to work. For dinner I went to Din Tai Fung (DTF), known for its dumplings. Did not disappoint! So amazing.  Spent the night walking the waterside and then the Chinatown Markets near Jamal Mosque.  All treats, no tricks! Saw a few Americans dressed up at the Conrad, that was about it.  Off to bed, next stop Yangon!

October 30, 2013: 3rd mechanical delay in a week for United, 2nd missed connection. Grr.  Spent about 3 hours extra in Tokyo and grabbed a quick shower before boarding a Singapore Airlines A380 for the trip to Singapore! Had never been on an A380. Pretty awesome.

Economy was very impressive.  Screen, cupholder, mirror, USB + Power, pillow, blanket, food, ICE CREAM. They had it all! Excited to cash in some miles on Sunday for another A380 experience… stay tuned.

October 29, 2013: And… back overseas we go. Always tough to say bye to the girls. Heading to Singapore, Yangon and Sydney this week. It was nice to have a business class upgrade from Chicago to Tokyo but I am not too sure about this whole backwards-seat thing.  

October 28, 2013: Small group Halloween party! Jen and I went as pilot and flight attendant, she put a great costume together!  Annelise had to destroy the bathroom shortly before everyone arrived.  Nice work A. :)

October 27, 2013: Lazy day at home! Saw some great contrails in the afternoon sky and worked on birthday invites with the girls.

October 26, 2013: Fun morning with the girls while Mommy slept in. Tonight we went to IWU to see Josh in Friday Night Live.  We had a date night at Paynes before heading to the show. Delicious!

October 25, 2013: Made a beautiful drive from Hartford to Albany, lots of leaves in peak through the mountains! And what’s this about a KANJAM tournament at Siena? I need to get in on this!!

October 24, 2013: Traveled to Hartford for work. Went to Red Robin, where every salad has chicken on it.  I asked for ‘something other than chicken’ on my salad… and got a hamburger. Kinda weird, bro.  Watched a few innings of the World Series and called it a night.

October 23, 2013: Had a great day in Springfield! Jen and I went to the UIS Scholarship Luncheon to meet Mac and Laura, our recipients. They were great! Always fun to be back on campus.

Spent the rest of the day with Jen’s family.  Annelise loved Martha!

October 22, 2013: Final birthday celebration! 1 candle = 5 candles. :)

October 20, 2013: Said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa in the AM, got lots and lots of laundry done during the afternoon and then headed to Jayson and Amanda’s for a Colts Party / Nameless Pizza Tasting Party. Jayson had the entire menu ready for us to sample from their new pizza place.  My favorite was Gates of Hell, a sriracha-based sauce pizza.  It was equal parts spicy + delicious. And, the Colts won. Win, win… win.

October 19, 2013: So good to be home! Celebrated my birthday with my parents, and they enjoyed some time with the girls while we went to the #chapmanwedding. So fun! It was a beautiful ceremony and a great reception.  So glad that we were able to be a part of it!
