August 31, 2014: POST #1500 on TUMBLR! Wow! Let’s celebrate with a nice snook, 2-3 pounder? A little sandy from wrangling him on the beach, but still a beauty!

August 30, 2014: A sunrise walk with Grandpa before they head home. :( The week went too fast! We went to town today for groceries, etc and took A to prompt care for her bum troubles :) She’s spent most of the week on the beach without a swimsuit, haha!

Our friends arrived this evening for week 2 and we’ve had a great time so far.  Tonight we went out to check turtle nests and ACTUALLY SAW TURTLES!!! 3 little turtles heading to sea. Incredible.

August 27, 2014: Boat day! Cruised along the intercoastal and down to Cabbage Key for lunch.  Saw tons of dolphins today too.  I brought the drone along and got a couple more shots of them. Such an incredible, unique angle!   A few dolphins even came right up to our boat, close enough to touch! Crazy!!

August 26, 2014: Started to feel ‘under the weather’ today after work. :(

August 25, 2014: I spent the day working but was able to get down to the beach for sunset.  Flew the drone above a pod of dolphins for nearly a mile. It was incredible! Lots of great video and pics from that… now to find time to do something with them. :)

August 24, 2014: Another great lightning storm to end a great first day of vacation.  Did some sailing with Josh, super relaxing.

August 23, 2014: Cutest moment of the day was watching Emelyn take her camera out of her backpack once we got to 10,000 feet so she could take a picture of the clouds like Daddy. I was laughing so hard! :)

Saw an incredible lightning storm tonight and the Milky Way was in full effect too. Unreal.

August 22, 2014: Final preparations for vacation! Met Mom in Champaign to hand over the dog, and the girls enjoyed a few hours with her at the Children’s Science Museum while I took some calls from the car.  After that it was the special treat of McDonald’s for lunch, and we got back on the road.  Next stop, Florida!

August 18, 2014: A visit from Grandpa and Grandma Davis! The girls always enjoy their time with them so much! We got to show them the garden, and Grandpa Paul enjoyed seeing the drone in action!

For date night we ran lots of errands and stopped by Crepe Guys in Castleton for dessert. Delicious!

August 9, 2014: Josh and Angie are in town!! First stop was Taylor’s Bakery for donuts, which we ate at the Farmer’s Market (along with the other usual items from there!). Josh and I worked on the playhouse after lunch to help with the mold issues… hello crown molding! :P

This afternoon we went to Easley Winery for live music and tastings.  I didn’t realize they produce so much wine from downtown! Pretty neat.  Dinner was at Union 50, an incredible new place on Mass Ave. Bonus points for shuffleboard + foozball.  From there we went to Fountain Square and ended the night at a local coffee shop. Such a fun day!
