September 1, 2012: Emelyn was pretty excited that “Aunt Gigi” and “Jaaash” came to visit, and of course even more excited for the gifts! Double Trouble was in full effect with some matching outfits as well!
Went to Scotty’s Lakehouse for dinner once Grandma, Grandpa and Josh arrived, and then we went to Castleton Mall to do some shopping afterwards. Saw a sweet rainbow (pics never do it justice) from Isaac. Finished the night with some Phase 10.
August 30, 2012: What a fun day! Drove over to Columbus for work, stopped by Richmond on the way back to surprise John for his birthday. Even sang a little tune for him :) Drove in to Ghyslain to grab some treats for the girls, and back home. Even got 5 hours of client calls in during my drive today! Awesome.
Also noticed on the interwebs that Butler Blue II and III were in Macomb, IL for the Battle of the Bulldogs tonight. Called up my man Blue II and told him he was 30 minutes from the best pizza in the world. And you know when a celebrity is coming to town, Rushville IL rolls out the red carpet! They even had ‘The Hoosier’ off the menu :) The editor/photographer of the Rushville Times stopped by for the photo op of America’s Dog, they had some pizza, and rolled back to WIU for the game. The only thing missing… was me. :(
August 25, 2012: Terrific. Started with 9 holes at Gray Eagle with Brett. I shook the rust off on the driving range before we hit the course. Brett birdied the 1st hole, and I thought I was done for. But I parred, then bogeyed #2, then rattled off 4 straight pars to be at +1 after 6. Then…. hole 7. When we got to the tee box of the long par 4 there were TEN PEOPLE on the hole. 4some-2some-4some ahead of us. Ridiculous. Ended up bogey-par-bogey to end at +3 (39). Pretty happy with that. Sliced one OB on the last hole, a Par 5, then saved with a 6 after hitting 3 off the tee.
Came back in the afternoon and hung out while the kids slept; Jen and Shelby made a few dresses. So crafty. Then we took a few pics of little Saylor before we left the kids behind for a night out. Started at Korean BBQ, next up Jo Ann Fabrics (per the girl’s request), and finished up the night at Hearthstone for dessert and drinks. What a fantastic night!
August 24, 2012: FRIDAY! The weekend started off great… The Cadwells are here for the weekend! We do an annual vacation, and this year we made it a ‘staycation’ due to the kids, logistics, etc. Looking forward to a great time with them. Sparks are already flying between Em and Crew :P
August 20, 2012: Heading home! After meeting that cute French boy last night, Em seemed extra interested in getting ready this AM. :) We flew SXM-CLT-IND. The SXM-CLT was a US Airways Boeing 757, and it was fantastic! Delta squeezes 7 rows in first class on their 757-200. US Airways had 3 rows, which meant HUGE legroom in each row! At one point, Jen went to the bathroom, so Em crawled up and got comfortable… and Mommy lost her seat. :)
We were treated to a stunning sunset at 30,000 feet on our way to Indy. It seemed to last forever. Home sweet home!
