December 31, 2014: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! The brisket turned out great and our night with friends was fantastic. Highlights included fireworks, foosball, karaoke and the Helium app… haha!  Popped some bubbly at midnight and then spent the next hour talking about life, 2014 and 2015 and how much we appreciate each other. It was an encouraging way to end the year!

December 30, 2014: Getting ready for New Year’s Eve! Bought a 16lb brisket for the smoker. Spent several hours today reading various styles and methods of cooking it. Wish me luck! There is no Plan B for dinner :) It goes on at 3am tonight for a 13-15 hour smoke! 

December 29, 2014: Children’s Museum!  Carousel was the highlight, as always, for the girls.  Jen is 37 weeks tomorrow! 

December 28, 2014: Got to spend some time with the goeglein's today. So nice to see them TWICE in a month!  The girls and G-man had a blast playing together and we did Thai Kitchen for dinner, a favorite for both families.

December 27, 2014: Breaking in A’s big girl bed :) The 1-month eviction notice has been posted on the crib! 

December 26, 2014: Cousins in the belly! Jen and Bethany sporting their baby bumps together for the first, and last, time.

December 25, 2014: Merry Christmas! We opened gifts with the girls in the AM, and Jen’s family arrived at lunch.  We enjoyed time with them, opened gifts, and went for a drive to look at Christmas lights in the area. Great memories.

December 24, 2014: Christmas Eve!  Such a wonderful day and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. Feeling extra grateful today for my family.

December 23, 2014: Tonight we went for a 4D Ultrasound to get one more peek of our baby girl, and to let the girls see her too! A was not a fan of the dark room.

December 22, 2014: More Christmas cookies and Em’s new learning challenge - count to 100 before Grandma and Grandpa Davis get here on Christmas! 

December 21, 2014: Fun with Uncle Dan, who was also an incredible help with running some wires through the attic. We did ribs on the smoker for dinner. Yum!

December 20, 2014: Nice, relaxing day at home.  We played with our cardboard-box airplane and made s’mores by the fire. So relaxing!

December 19, 2014:  Daddy-daughter date day! We went Christmas shopping for Mommy ( and CFA for lunch!).  Afterwards we wrapped Mommy’s presents and decorated the wrapping paper. Em was proud of her Christmas tree ornaments! 

December 18, 2014: Christmas cards and Christmas cookies! Em said “UH OH, I got flour on baby sister!” Haha :)

December 17, 2014:  Was on a video chat from 12a until nearly 4a for an Aussie client.  Took this pic as I headed to bed. Short night!

December 16, 2014: Date night!  We went to the Beef and Boards Christmas Special and instantly felt really, really, young. :)  But hey, any time I get to spend with this lovely lady is a win in my book.

December 15, 2014: The Christmas festivities continue!  We are staying home for the first time…ever… for Christmas due to Jen being past the date her Dr. wants her to travel. It’s been nice to have family come our way and stop by!  Today we got to see Grandma and Grandpa Davis. It’s always nice to catch up with them and hear updates from other branches of the family tree! 

December 14, 2014: Gingerbread house! Also, the bath robes from Grandma.  Em has slept in hers, inside her new sleeping bag, for 2 nights straight.

December 13, 2014: Christmas with my parents! Busted out the smoker for some pulled pork (lunch) and a tri-tip (dinner). Yum!  The girls loved seeing Grandma and Grandpa and the gifts were a big hit too :) Tonight we went to the Indy Zoo for their lights display and it was…. super crowded!  It was 50F out so I think almost everyone with a zoo membership decided to go :) But we had a great time!

December 12, 2014: I officially have a new favorite local restaurant. Lobstah roll and clam chowdah, just like the east coast.  Delish.
