May 30, 2012: Took the bike trailer out for a 6 mile ride tonight to test it out, and had great company with Josh and Justin coming along. She LOVED it. I’m extremely pleased with it too, great little trailer.  Found one about 30% off retail, new in box, on Craigslist. (Stolen?)

May 30, 2012: Found a brand new Burley bike stroller on Craigslist for cheap.  Let’s take this baby for a spin!

Memorial Day!

May 28, 2012:  Memorial Day! Jen’s brother moved in to our house for the summer today, so we were able to celebrate the holiday with some family.  We hit up the pool, and then the food coma began.  Ribs and corn on the grill, Jen’s homemade strawberry shortcake (with homemade whipped cream!), delicious cheesy potato casserole and watermelon.  Ended the night with some watermelon-spearmint slushies, our new favorite treat. ‘MERICA!

Overpass Pizza

Yum!

May 27, 2012: Ran over to Champaign, IL to see “Mamo and Papo” for a bit, which Em loved! She had a blast with them, and got some new books and toys too!  Heading there we stopped by the I-74 Antique Mall, where Jen found some vintage pyrex and Mason jars. On the way home, we stopped by an absolute hole in the wall pizza place called Overpass Pizza. And it wasdelicious!Nice to know another place along the way home that we can stop at!

Carousel time

Weeee

Round and Round

Look Ma, No Hands!

Tears.

All done!

Sunset

May 26, 2012: What a day!! I went to breakfast with JT at Rosie’s Place, and then met Jen at the Farmer’s Market. We picked up loads of fresh fruit and veggies, some raw honey, and some ribs from the butcher. After lunch, we went to the pool, followed by some gardening during nap time. (More on that tomorrow)

After dinner, we went to the carnival @ Hamilton Town Center.  We took turns riding the carousel with Em (look Ma, no hands!), and then we hopped on a spinning ride which was not received as well by her :)  Lemon Shake-ups, a beautiful sunset, and home for bed.  A packed day, but we wouldn’t want it any other way!

May 25, 2012:  Times Square, 4:04am. The city that never sleeps. Snapped this pic before hopping in my cab to JFK.

May 24, 2012: Haven’t posted a timelapse for awhile. Here’s one I did in Times Square tonight during the rain/drizzle.  Best in HD, of course.

Chicago

Unreal!

Flight Club

Times Square

May 24, 2012: After a quick layover in Chicago, I was in New York by 9am.  Spent the mid-day working, had a great lunch with Chris, and then we stopped by Flight Club on the way to the office.  Pretty awesome place.  Where else can you buy Nike shoes for outrageous prices? Haha! I saw one pair at $7,000. (Pictured = $6K.) Most Jordans were several thousand.

Spent some time in Times Square before heading to my hotel. Grabbed some Shake Shack after dreaming about them for 2 weeks since our last trip.  Another 6am flight tomorrow, then home for the weekend!

May 23, 2012: 18 month checkup! I’m hoping we can get past the fever, rash, mosquito bites and teething before the holiday weekend. :)

RELEASE THE RABBITS

Champ.

Joe Montana Football

May 22, 2012: Last night was SEGA Genesis Night, and it was a blast!  The previous owner’s didn’t want to move this beast of a 50” Mitsubishi rear projection big screen from the basement, so I hooked my SEGA to it and we went wild.

Started the night with Bulls vs. Blazers to forecast the Heat/Pacers game last night. (Heat won 14-13 in a defensive barnburner). We next went to some FIFA 95 and Joe Montana Football, followed by some Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker and NBA JAM.  Shawn Kemp went for 62pts, 10 boards and 10 steals as I beat CAM for the championship 62-49 (HE’S ON FIRE!). On to some Sonic the Hedgehog and Road Rash 2 from there.  And at the end of the night we busted out the PS2 for some Need for Speed Underground, which Andrew dominated at.

Games we didn’t get to included Streets of Rage, Jack Nicklaus Golf, Ren and Stimpy, XMen 2, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, Troy Aikman Football, Madden 94, and Jurassic Park.  Next time.

May 21, 2012: Helping Mom plant some more veggies in the garden!

Go Pacers!

BRU Burger Bar

May 20, 2012: Had a great time downtown today watching the Pacers/Heat game!  Kevin drove in from Canada, Brett met us from the west side, and JT/Dane/Cameron came along as well.  Even though the Pacers lost, we saw some good basketball and got some free rally towels along the way.

Afterwards we went to BRU Burger Bar on Mass Ave and had some delicious food and drinks.  It was a fun afternoon!

City Market

Grilling!

Bella loved the park

Josh and Em

Ang and Em

May 19, 2012: We had a nice little morning in downtown Indy; started at City Market, walked around Mass Ave. for a bit.  The girls went shopping from there while Josh (the handyman) and I (the assistant) knocked some projects out at the house.  At night we grilled out, went on a walk and then spent some time at the park.  Bella went nuts once she was off the leash, it was a fun time for all!

Korean BBQ

Angie and Jen

Josh and I

May 18, 2012: Had a fantastic supper at E Miracle Korean BBQ in Fishers tonight. Superb staff and the meat was marinated to perfection! Angie and Josh are visiting for the weekend too, whoo hoo! We got a sitter and enjoyed an ‘adult night’.  Went to Hearthstone afterwards, which was a great start to the weekend.

May 16, 2012: Downside to living on a wooded lot by a creek = mosquito bites. Poor girl!

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

May 15, 2012: Welcome home, luggage! I guess checking in 3 hours early for a nonstop flight home is apparently too much for a bag to come home with you. Come on, Delta!

"Brick Beach", Kingston, NY

Nathan's! Coney Island

Srsly, don't.

Coney Island!

JFK. Let's go home.

Bye bye, Big City!

Super excited to be flying

ZzZz... nope.

May 14, 2012: Heading home! We pulled over in Kingston, NY for lunch and decided to ‘go local’.  In summary, I can now see why most people just pull in to McD’s and keep rolling! The first restaurant didn’t have high chairs (?!), the 2nd only served breakfast, and the 3rd didn’t have seating at all.  So we decided to to go to a local park on the Hudson River and have a picnic.  In total, it took us 2 hours from getting off the interstate to back on. Phew!

From there we made a stop at Coney Island, which Jen described as “absolutely nothing like I expected it to be.”  It does look pretty fun and cheerful in movies, but on a rainy Monday in May, it was a desolate, graffiti’d mess.  Regardless, we got Nathan’s Famous and then went on to JFK to catch our flight home.

We had 3 hours before our flight, so I tried to wear down the little one by letting her run all across Terminal 2.  She made it from one end to the other nearly 4 times, and…. it didn’t work.  She was a hot mess on the flight (which landed 3 hours past her bedtime), so we were glad to get home. What a great trip!
