Expedite!

October 31, 2012: HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We had a safari theme going on. Jen made a delicious themed meal too! Saw Mitt and Barack out campaigning.  Our neighborhood is way different than where we moved from (singles, young married) so we really had a great time this year.

The Goegleins came by and we ended up playing Expedite, a locally created and designed game that was funded through Kickstarter.  I won. :)   Plane routes, too fun for me.

Hey girl!

Date time

Yum!

October 30, 2012:  37 week check-up! Got the news that Baby Ward is futher ahead than we thought, so we got a earlier due date.  Dr. wanted to rupture membranes and try to get labor started and we said NO THANKS we’ll take the extra week or so :)

Afternoon date with Jen to go through our doula homework for our class this evening. I had some delicious cactus chili, and for her some pretzel breadsticks!

Also, Em has a new favorite hiding spot. Cooking in the cupboards.

From the front porch

Looking out back.

Good times.

October 29, 2012:  An amazing sunset with the most vivid oranges and purples this evening, a warm house stuffed with friends, and several reminders of how blessed we are. Best Monday in awhile.

My pumpkin!

October 28, 2012: Church, followed by more yardwork. I used my birthday money to get a sweet backpack blower (20% off at Lowes using Harbor Freight coupon!) Justin came over to help me with some yardwork and carrying wood, which was a huge help.

Tonight we carved our pumpkins! Em had fun, was a little grossed out by the insides.  E went right for it.

October 27, 2012: VROOOM! Went back out to the cabin to ride 4-wheelers and walk the trails this AM. Packed up and left Illinois around lunch, stopped in Decatur to eat at a little Vietnamese place. Delicious!

The evening was spent at Cadwell’s Annual Ho-Down. Hayrack rides, bonfire, s’mores, and fantastic friends. Awesome night.

MEAT.

October 26, 2012:  Jen’s grandparents came to visit over lunch, which was very nice of them to drive up from STL to see us all!  Emelyn loved playing with Great-Grandma Jackie.

For dinner… a fantastic ribeye and potatoes.  Hold the fruit.

October 25, 2012:  Worked from Jen’s parents most of the day, but Em got to see a parrot while she was out running errands, which was fun for her! It said hello and goodbye. My mom stopped by over the lunch hour to see Em (and us, haha!). Mamo Sheewa? Em misses her already.

Tonight we went out to B and Jake’s for dinner, and busted open some Double Oaked Woodford Reserve to celebrate. Rainy, rainy night coming home.  The temperature dropped 20F+ in an hour! Brrr.

October 24, 2012: Went out to UIS for the Scholarship Luncheon and got to meet the 2 students who receive our scholarship, which was really fun.  They both seemed like great choices for our scholarship, so we were glad to be able to spend some time with them! Ran into other familiar faces on campus, even Chancellor (Emeritus) Ringeisen! It was also fun to see campus and all the recent growth.

It was beautiful out and the grandparents needed the car seats, so we got to hop in the Z4 and throw the top down for the day. :)

At night we went out to the cabin and rode 4-wheelers, where I about got t-boned by 2 deer running through the field at dusk. Haha!  Smores to end the day. Delicious.
