January 30, 2013: Not every day that you receive $100,000,000,000 in the mail! :)

January 29, 2013: Pretty surreal day.  Em said goodbye to her best friend after Mommy decided they were ready to move back home.  Thankful for friends who came over to support us and pray for us tonight as we move forward. What a day.

Sober Driver!

SOCHI 2014

Yum! I'll take 2.

Welcome to America.

January 27, 2013: As far as travel days go, this was my best ever.  Left Moscow at 2:30pm Sunday, landed in New York at 3:10pm Sunday. (9.5 hour flight). Had a 40 minute layover, rushed through customs and across 2 terminals to board, and less than 2 hours later I was at IND.  12 hours from Moscow to Indianapolis. Wow!   I actually landed at IND the same time Joe and Adam made it to Grand Central Station.

Took an official taxi to the airport, which offered the 'sober driver experience’. Definitely worth the extra 400 roubles.  So good to be home!

JUMP in Red Square

Izmailovsky Market

Moscow

I love the dude scowling at me.

St. Basil's Cathedral

Kremlin

Changing of the Guards, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Joe at the Metro

Loved the architecture!

Amazing day.

January 26, 2013: Moscow! Landed at 3am, after negotiating with the price-gouging taxi drivers, we got our fare down from 5,000 rubles ($150 USD) to 1,800 RUB ($60). Ridiculous.

Had a blast with Joe and Adam exploring the city. Spent a lot of time around Red Square, went to a local market, and finished the night watching Joe ice skate outside of the GUM in Red Square.

Word up

6.5' wide house

January 25, 2013: AMSTERDAM! Poffertjes for breakfast, a favorite of mine, and a shower at the KLM Crown Lounge. Spent about 8 hours walking the city and seeing the sights.  Adam slipped on his ‘jump shot’, but survived.

One fun highlight was the narrowest house in Amsterdam… 6.5 feet.

Empire State Building

4 wide to sleep in!

January 24, 2013: Breakfast at Good Stuff Diner, meetings at New School, then a 4pm flight from JFK to Amsterdam! We’ll land at 6am tomorrow… midnight at home. Hoping for sleep!  I have ‘ghetto first class’, 4 wide to lay down on, so that’s nice.

January 23, 2013: Flew in to Manhattan, where Matt and I met up with Joe. We hit the city tonight since Matt had never been! Times Square, Pizza, Shake Shack, Rockefeller, Grand Central, Empire State, Wall St… it was a packed night! Cold, but helpful to see what the weather in Europe will be like.

Packed!

Homage

Yum!

January 22, 2013: On the road again! After nearly 4 months without traveling, I packed up the trusty roller and backpack for a 6-day adventure through Ohio, NYC, Amsterdam and Moscow. Started the week with work at 3 clients today, which made for a long day of meetings + driving, but I’m blessed to have clients close to home!

Stopped at a cool store called Homage in Columbus today, and had amazing faijta tacos for dinner!

Waiting room

Ultrasound

Doc shirt haha

January 21, 2013: Em’s ‘big day’ today… spent the AM at the hospital doing and ultrasound + VCUG, which was extremely uncomfortable for Emelyn and painful for us to watch. But initial reports look like there is no renal reflux, which is great news! She got my intestines instead of Jen’s :)
