October 7, 2013: And… we’re off to Europe! The trip got off a rough start with an 8am notification from TripIt that our 7:30pm flight would be 20 minutes delayed… leaving us with a 25 minute connection in DC to get our flight to London.  7 bags + 2 kids = NO thanks.  I spent 4 hours on the phone with United, at first they were trying to move us to a flight through Newark. Rule #1 is to never go through Newark willingly. (Later, at the airport, I noticed that the flight to Newark we would have been on got cancelled that day.  Chalk one up for experience!)
United finally agreed with me to move us to Air Canada flights through Toronto, but the flight left 3 hours earlier than our original itinerary so we had to hustle to get out of the house! We also had a stroller on delivery from Amazon because the stroller that came on Saturday was broken.

So we pile in the stretch limo (cheaper than a taxi + no car seats to worry about!) and head to the UPS Store and thankfully… the driver arrived just as we did.  I took the stroller out of the box, threw the broken one in that box and slapped a sticker on it back to Amazon, back in the car and away went!

The flights worked out well. We had an 8pm departure from Toronto, a 7 hour flight + 5 hour time change. So we all got some sleep and then woke up for our day in London!
