October 15 (AM Edition): Ahhh… the last day of my 20’s.  Met up with my longtime friend Georg, who grew up near Berlin and now lives in Leipzig, and his girlfriend Thea, for a great day together.  He has been to the US to visit every 2 years for the past decade so it was definitely my turn to return the favor!

We started at the Checkpoint Charlie museum, headed to the Reichstag from there, and a traditional german lunch (currywurst!). We also saw Brandenburg Gate. The girls went to nap at the hotel with Elaine and we continued our Berlin tour with the East Side Gallery, the longest remaining portion of the Berlin Wall.  It was so neat to see. We also went to the Holocaust Museum, which was very somber and moving.

And then… it was time to celebrate.
