April 15, 2012: [Baja Edition] When visiting the Baja California, Baja Buggies are a must! We went EN FUEGO on the countryside, and were really glad about one thing.. buying the $35 full coverage insurance! :)

About 20 minutes into our 3 hour excursion, Jake took a hairpin turn too tight and ripped the front wheel off our buggy. [Video here!]  At least it was there, and not up in the narrow canyons.

Beyond that, we had an absolute blast and saw some great scenery.  We also visited a local village and had some soda and snacks with the locals.  We also met a guy who has a pet rattlesnake (what?!)

Highly recommended.

April 14, 2012: Pool time! Just relaxed around the pool this afternoon. The food here is pretty solid as well, had a great pizza for lunch!  Em loves the pool and there’s a ‘shelf’ area by our chairs for her to play on.

April 14, 2012: [SCUBA Edition]  What a morning! Jake and I went diving in the Baja Corridor, and we saw mantarays, sea lions, dolphins, sea turtles and whales… before getting in the water!!

We started the first dive at 100 feet deep and worked our way back up some amazing rock formations.  Lots of great coral and sea life.

On our second dive, we saw huge schools of fish and were able to swim around/with them for awhile.  Then we heard the amazing sound of humpback whales singing to each other.  At the end of our dive we ascended…. to see the whales about 30 yards from us! We had no clue they were so close.  We were surrounded by whale watching boats, so for safety we got back in our boat and followed 3 humpbacks for awhile. It was an amazing end to our dives.

April 13, 2012: You know I love Friday the 13th’s, and this one was no different! Just a nice day of playing in the sand, swimming in the pool, delicious sea bass tacos, and an afternoon nap.  Perfect.

April 12, 2012: We made it to Los Cabos!  Another early flight this week for me, but it’s great to be flying with the family for a change!  After a layover in Salt Lake City, we hopped down to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The weather is fantastic here, and the food is even better.  Homemade chips and guac with every meal? Yes, please!

Looking forward to a few days of relaxation, a day of scuba diving, and possibly some baja buggies.  But for now… SLEEP!

April 11, 2012: VACATION. Got home today, time to pack and head back to the airport. So excited, it got really cold at home while I was gone! 80’s, sun & sand sounds great right now.

April 10, 2012: Landed in Washington DC at 7am, up to Hartford, CT for the day. Propellers, activate!
