May 6, 2012: Just a few other camping pics from this weekend. Jen perfected cooking 24 eggs on fire, I took a likin’ to a dog named Lyric, and Dan played with some BlueFuego. What a relaxing weekend in wilderness and a great time at Turkey Run State Park!

May 5, 2012: Today we went for a 6 mile canoe trip after a delicious breakfast! Jen’s sister and husband came to watch Em for the weekend, so we were babyless for the first time in 18 months! It was great to reconnect with each other and have some quality time together.
Canoeing was great, and the water was swift! The group in front of us flipped 3 of 4 canoes through the rapids, and actually LOST a canoe (and $500 in the process). They should have purchased the insurance ;)

May 4, 2012: Let the camping begin! Got off to a rough start. Our mattress had a hole in it, luckily Dan and Katie were able to pick up a new one on their way! Justin and Jordan’s tent pole snapped, leaving them a bit crooked. And Dan’s monstrous 2-bedroom tent had to be put up in the rain/mud using headlights.
But hey, we’re here and ready to rock!

May 2, 2012: We had the Crooks over tonight for a “make your own pizza” bar, and then went out back with the kids to play “at the park”, as they called it! It was fun to watch them all run around and explore. We wrapped up the night with root beer floats, which were delcious! Last night, it felt like summer.
